Here’s another shot from my book Frisky. And my story behind the picture.
Raphaella and I spent the whole day in Ibiza photographing. I usually start the days early when shooting outside, so we were the first at the breakfast buffet and when Kim, my location scout, picked us up, we had a busy day ahead. We drove to places that weren’t on the map and photographed in places where we you can only get with a four wheel drive.
Later in the afternoon we drove down a steep hill and arrived at this beautiful cliff not far from San Antonio. I had to be careful not to fall off the cliff as my focus was on Raphaella only. We photographed a continuation of my hippie series and I was amazed by the light. Usually they say you can’t photograph in bright sunlight but as we managed to place Raphaella slightly in the shadow of the rocks, the light output was just perfect. Like all other images, this was also shot with neither flash nor reflector. Just pure daylight.
Thanks to Raphaella for this beautiful and innocent picture.
More from this series can be found in my book Frisky.
